The almost continuous act of applying for grants, scholarships, and residency programs has become a natural element in the life of the artist. I collaborated with two of my friends on a joint project for our exhibition: we applied for a grant from the Hungarian National Cultural Fund on behalf of three famous artists, filling out application forms and including the usual CVs, portfolios and project descriptions. Michelangelo applied for support in the sculpting of the Rondanini Pieta, Rodin applied in order to complete The Gates of Hell, and Yves Klein applied to buy blue and gold paint for his work...
