On the one hand, I wanted to continue a series of works that represent the effects of natural forces, while the forces causing the changes in the works remain hidden. On the other hand, I was looking for an answer to the question of what the is relation between sculpture and video/animation. I slowly burnt a piece of wood, taking pictures at each phase of the burning process. The result is a rather melancholic video that shows the wood burning without flames or fire.
