As the transplants become visible with time it became necessary to cover up the corrective surgery with some kind of playful decoration. This is how the final piece of this series was created (Plastic Surgery IV): I sewed the flesh grafts onto the fruit using coloured threads, in the same way a grandmother might try to weave some magic into fruit for her grandchildren, who no longer find the foodstuff as enticing as other forms of sustenance.
